Suggestions for the weekend

My wife and son (9yrs) want take the boat out fishing this weekend. They are not hardy enough for a Bay trip for walleyes.

I live in Caro, so I am looking for something close.

How are Sanford Lake and Wixon Lake? Any other suggestions.

They will be worm or minnow fishing for gills, perch...etc. If I can make time I would like to break out the baitcaster for pike or bass.:D

wixon and sanford are both decent choices.both lakes also have musky.
i fish wixom alot.mainly for pike and musky though.
but both lakes have what you`re looking for.
