Everything that you need durring the day plus lights, bow and stern with correct color lights in correct locations. Check any current boats lights and you will see the combo required. It' s a combo of green and red lights

Use this link and follow the chapters for Navigation lights, Uses, and Legal Requirements (two under Chapter 3, one under Chapter 4).

For a 14' fishing boat you'll need "sidelights" (red and green) or most often used a combination "bow light" which is red and green. You'll also need a white stern light which is mounted on a pole and visible from 360 degrees.

You can get a clamp on bow light which pretty much amounts to a flashlight with a red and green lens cap and this clamps to the bow. Then a stern light which is also cheap and easy to install. Here's a link with more info...

John

The explanation about the visibility of the stern light.
If your sitting on the seat, the light has to be visible from all around.
You can not block the view of the light from the front.
This is why you will see common length's of 36 or 42 inches.

I think the cheapest is the clamp on lights about 39.00 or less for the pair. But I would only consider them if it going to be VERY limited use. Dead batteries ect just seems like a pain but they do satisfy the requirement I believe.
