Line Weight Question

If you have a rod that's labeled for 6-12 pound test, what happens if you use 4 pound line on it? Thank you.

Nothing, if you don't hook anything:), or leave your drag on a light setting. Just be eaiser to break off is all.

Thanks for the info guys, its much appreciated. I would have found out soon enough myself but thought I'd ask in case it sent everything into self-destruct mode or something! I got a new ul rod for spinners in streams and pan fish, etc. but like to use 4lb. test. Again, always appreciate the advice from this site.
