Going to go camping in a couple of weeks and plan on going to Bruin Lake around the Pinkey Area. Anybody have any luck out there? I'am new to bass fishing and would be even more geeked if I know theres some big fish out there.
TIA

If you are not aware, Bruin lake is on a chain of 6 or 7 lakes, Bruin, Woodburn, Patterson, Blind, Half Moon, and Highland lake. There are a few smaller ones in there also but I do not know their names. You should download lake maps from the DNR website and for Livingston and Washtenaw counties to see where the holes are. I have caught most all species in these lakes and their are regular bass tournements out of Bruin all the time. Sizes are not ususally too big for the pike and bass, but the hawgs are out there if your patient. GOOD LUCK

In my opinion the only two lakes in that entire chain worth fishing are half moon and patterson. Patterson can give up a ton of fish but the size is not great and half moon is a hard lake to fish and you have to fish it early or late in the day otherwiase the ski boats and jet ski's will drive you off the lake. I camp there every year for 2 weeks with my girlfriend and i dont even bother fishing bruin anymore. The best thing i ever caught out of that lake was about a 20 inch northern.
