I've never been mushroom picking before and I believe I found some Morel mushrooms in my yard. Are they safe to eat? Any responses would be great!

tHOSE ARE NOT SAFE TO EAT----They are a strepcocupyroehtylmethylbad**** type of shroom. you need to let me have all those for proper incineration on an electric stove which will follow with gratifying mastication disposal!!!!!!!!!

HI AQ
Those are definitely nice yellow morels but often wood chips
are chemically treated and if they are the morels would
not be safe to eat.
I have some that show up in mine every year that are treated
and I just like to see how big they get.

Wood chip morels are not good usually. Tough and leathery. And the chemical thing I wondered about. I cooked a few to try and ended up tossing them. I chewed but didn't swallow ;). No flavor either on the ones I tried. BUt in an untreated lawn and from potting soil I have had em and they are OK. Still a cool find!

I would find a more suitable spot away from the wood chips and shake the spores out those morels so that next year you'll have something nice to put on a fillet. Or I have a couple of acres around the corner from you, if you would like to move em over here that would be GREAT!;)
