What is a fair use period?

My father in law has morels in his back yard under an apple tree, probably close to 50 now, they keep popping all over the place. I go over there every couple of days because I'm still moving stuff from the garage...each time, I update him on the growth of the shrooms, but he is yet to pick them.

So at what point do you just cut them, leave a dozen sitting on his kitchen counter and run away with the rest?

I'm thinking that I have not yet hit that point, mostly because I don't have all my stuff moved out of the garage yet.

either way, it is interesting to see them grow, they sorta max out on size after a couple days.

Well I guess this is up to you. I do not know the situation, but if they are starting to get dried out or the slugs are making home in there I would pick. maybe you could pick some of the older ones and leave the fresh smaller ones.

I'd be helpin him out all week, free of charge. Maybe even leave a case of his favorite beverage for my troubles!
