Well, go figure I head up north for the weekend and find 5 dinky morels that were about the size of vienna sausages. Then I go out near my house just messing around looking for oyster mushrooms, and maybe morels. I just brought a bag in case. I pretty much figured I was just enjoying the scenery deer scouting. Well, I stopped to look at my GPS and just happened to look left. The sun was glistening off of this perfectly erect yellow morel. I think God spoke to me:lol:. I looked for about another 40 minutes and found 15 really nice sized morels (One was to rotted and buggy I left it. It actually crumbled in my hand:(.) I also found these two dryads. I'll be looking there again this week as again.:D I actually think I unlocked the clue:idea::).

We'll go looking Friday Shane. :) If it really makes you feel better though. I cooked up 4 of them in butter, and garlic. Then I deepfried some bluegills I caught a couple weeks ago.:p:evil::corkysm55

Great job! Those blacks look like the ones I found a few days ago, huge and getting old. Nice fresh whites. I can't wait to get back out this week.

I know they're semi-edible,but I have never eaten a Dryad's saddle. How are they? I find them by the truckload and usually just leave them to rot. Please give us an update.;)

I'll do. I know they are edible and never ate them, but I figured if I can eat them they should be good enough for a stew:evil::lol:. I won't pick the gigantic ones. Those two seemed borderline and I figured I'd keep them. I picked some on Friday as well. I'm planning on keeping them for the slow cooking type recipes. Soups, stews, ect. I'll post an update when I eat some.:)
