I need some pointers on where/how/when to locate the spawning Crappie? The lake I fish definately holds lots of and big Crappie. The lake consists of sandy/gravely areas, lots of nice weedbeds and a few mucky shallows.....not unlike alot of lakes in Michigan I suppose. What water temps or timeframes and depths/terrains should I be looking for at spawn time? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

A lot of them have spawned already. As soon as the water hits the 50s start looking for them along the north shore of lakes. If there is any wood around thats where they'll be. Trees and/or branches in the water is nirvana for specs.....

Pilons are also suitable structure to find and locate the specs they will stage to spawn when the water is in the mid to high 50`s

I have been finding them in 10 foot of water just off weedlines.
Minnows are good.

I really need to write this stuff down as I seem to miss the spawn every year......next thing I know, I'll be missing the gills.
Thanks for the tips.

Crappie Depot puts on his polarized sun glasses and uses his trolling motor to cruse the shoreline. When he spots them look out:yikes: We are still getting them on our lake in just a couple feet of water next to the drop offs.
