Ok.. so after a long week of not fishing and being on ol' lady duty this morning I got to go fishing tonight after dinner.
6-10 was the final count with 2 break offs on some monster fish that got in the docks:(
So my night goes like this. I get to the bank and look around and its flat as flat can be... NOT GOOD!!
I manage to get both lines in the water and call my buddy to come down and fish and the clouds start to filter over the lake. I figured my fishing would be cut short but the rain never came.
I started the night with Hair rigged corn and corn on a hook both on Titanum core leader line.
After about an half hour I rebaited hook bait rig with another corn hair and picked up my 1st fish. Not to shabby in the 8# range.
I re bait again and throw it out get settled in and start to bs with my buddy who just had shown up and another run. I get this one to the side and SUPRIZE.... MY FIRST MIRROR!!!!
I was able to rebait and get my rod back in the water and release the fish and almost fall asleep because things went DEAD!!!!
I had picked up some range cubes the other day and figured I would give them a shot my buddy was trying corn flavors that were a no go so why not. I tried to hair rig the range cube the same way you would a boilie or corn... NOPE wont work.. If there is a way to do it I sure dont know what it is. I made a new leader and tied a loop in and and strung the Range cube on and then looped the range cube on then used a knotless not to get the hook on. I ended up slipping the hook through the the first loop and it held perfect (I will take some pictures of the rig tonight)
Anyway... the rest of the night Range cubes ruled all runs..
Had 2 monsters pull lots of drag and get hung up in something worked to get them free but finally the leader broke both times. SAD DAY... On the plus side both fish have less then 3" of leader left in them the hooks will fall out soon (no barb)
Biggest fish of the night was 19#
Pictures to come
