Any reports from Beulah on the Crystal Lake perch? I fish them on Memorial Day weekend each year and had a hard time locating them the last 2 yrs. Anything happening?

I was going to hit Crystal Lake up for perch sometime soon. I caught about 60 this weekend on Big Glen in 52-72 ft of water. They were a tough find. I looked for littles bumps along the bottom on my graph. Crystal Lake will be about the exact same depth for the perch.

The last 2 years we really had to search and did not get many. 3 yrs ago we got into them (spawners) east end in 23 FOW out in front of Beulah and did not have to move. My wife and I got about 40 keepers (lots o small males) and threw back many more. We even got a smallie, sucker and whitefish all on wigglers.

Give a report if you go. With the price of gas and being in college, I have to choose my trips wisely and Crystal Lake is a good 35 minutes from my house just like Big Glen Lake. A few guys at my work fish Big Glen a lot and that's where my reports come from. Hence, I know when to go so I won't waste gas.

Leaving tonight and will fish 1 or 2 trips. Staying on the Betsie, so there will be a little trout fishing too. Have a great holiday.

Went perchin' for a few hours.
Got about 2 doz small keepers and threw back at least that many smaller perch. Wiped us out of 100 wigglers pretty quick. Fished from 30 to 40 FOW straight out from the east end launch in Beulah. Also got about a 3 lb whitefish. Constant action but could not find the bigger perch. There out there, we just did not have the time to spend searching. A lot less boat traffic than years past - must be the high cost of gas.
