I went out Sunday afternoon and caught a few bass. The water temp was anywhere from 52 - 56 degrees depending where on the lake you were at. The water color is really dirty. Looks like coffee with cream. We were the only boat out untill about 6:00 pm then I started to see a few more out. I hope to get back out thos weekend.

A little bird told me that someone caught the "last" fish out of that lake so anyone going fishing there is just wasting their time.......

Seems to be averaging about one fish for every 2 hours of fishing and there is a one in ten chance that its a walleye. Figure out those odds.

I was on a lake near Fremont today and got a TON of slimers, a few bass, and had several walleye follow an x-rap all the way to the boat, stick their tongues out at me and speed off to points unknown. We saw water temps early a.m. of about 56 degrees... and around 60 degrees by about 3:00 pm.

Robert,
The fish in my avatar isn't from Fremont lake. I caught that one on a little mud puddle up North.

It's a lake.... nearly 2 miles long... produced a 20+ pound sack of fish last year... 70+ feet of water in places. Not Croton, not Hardy.

Can you guess?

Took the boat out today (1st time in water this year:dizzy:) and had no intention to fish just run the boat etc. Well I stopped for a while and while pitching a white spinner bait in 7 fow. I caught the biggest bass of my life, from the freek no less. My biggest prior to this had been a 5lb 7oz largemouth. Todays fish dwarfed that one in both length and weight. It measured an honest 21 1/2 and was a fat female chuck full of eggs. I don't have a scale :dizzy: but I'm guessing 6 1/2 lbs + easily..............AND when I picked it out of the water eggs were starting to come out like a salmon..............felt real bad about that. I detest having that happen.......

Bad thing is no camera with me.............BIG UGH.............

Must have slow rolled the spinnerbait right over her bed..........fought like a tiger and made several runs under the boat etc. I was thinking a big slimer but nope a big hog largie...........

Not bad for the first time fishing the soft water this year....and from the freek no less....................oh ya NO eyes and no follows......

Robert & I fished yesterday evening, we got a few dink pike, a few dink bass, & no walleye. Bite really shut down when that front rolled through. Best fish 'o the day came right before that front, on a spinnerbait.

Although there was a fair amount of floating seaweed clumps out there the overall water clarity is very good for the time of year. I could stll see bottom in 10 foot of water. In years past when the water hit 65 degrees the lake turned green and visibillity was about two feet or less. The lake may be finally be seeing the effects of the zebra mussels.

Its getting to be the time of the year to break out the live bait. ;)

Now if we could ever get rid of all the floating algae and floating seaweed it wouldn't be a bad lake..............

I take it the temps were in the 60s????
