Grind Stone City

Anyone ever heard of fishing for smallies in Grind Stone city. I heard if you fish the river with leaches you can catch a ton of good smallies. Is this true if so I got a go.

I think the river you are talking about is Willow Creek and is excellent smallmouth fishing. If you plan on going during the catch and keep season, there will be about 20 guys fishing the river also. If you get out into the mouth, you can spread out and fish away from the crowd. I've always used watermelon tubes in the river and the mouth and the bass can't resist them, leeches will probably work just as good.

I fish for smallies in the harbor @ grindstone, right now is the time.

A lot more than 20 guys,gets very crowded.It is good smallmouth fishing though.

my buddy owns a house on huron across the street from the marina and he says he catches a ton of smallies wadding out to the big boulders and throwing tubes
