My buddy and I were having a great day on saturday. We weren't catching huge numbers of bass, but 18 out of the 20 + caught were of keeper size. We were using rat-l-traps in 4 to 7 and x-raps in 7 to 12 feet. I had just caught two 2-pounders on back to back casts with the x-rap off a wind blown point in 10 foot of water when all hell broke loose. Twitch twitch pause.....Twitch twitch pause....Twitch twitch pa....BAM! I knew as soon as it hit it was the fish of the day. She had me in the weeds for a good five minutes which is why I thought she felt so heavy. After 10 minutes I finally saw her which is when the disappointment finally set in.

I guess the x-rap is an all species lure.......even carp.

What a beauty. Are you planning on feeding that fish to the family or are you getting it mounted?? I know an awesome taxedermist that does good work on trophy fish like that. Congratulations!

That's why I love fishing, you just never know what you will catch. Up in Canada where we fish you might just hook a fresh water drum, which really stretches your line... That's what morphs up there from the 12 pound walleye you think you have snagged....

I froze it so we can enjoy the trophy together before my turkey hunt on Thursday. Save your appetite.

Nice Bass?? haha but seriously does anyone know about the real current state record, where it was caught, and when? I was looking on the DNR site and it was a least 11+ pounds from what I can remember
Wow, that is a nice carp........ought to be good for a couple years worth of huge tomatoes. :)

With lips like that I would not take that thing anywhere near Stinky Reinke!!
He is getting married/sexless soon so that may be way to tempting.
O wait your getting married also, My advise would be to keep it in the freezer for later.:D:lol::D
Go kill something will ya already.

Nice carp. Last year I had one hit my lime green Super Roostertail. They are fun to fight, no doubt.
