Has anyone been doing any good on pike out and around chelsea? Thinking about making a trip to either four mile or Winnewanna impoundment in waterloo rec.

we fished it once last year but it was in september and the weeds were a real pain in the butt. The few pike we saw were really big bodied so we would like to take another crack at the lake.

i already have a lot of walleye in my freezer along with a good amount of trout and bluegill. Now it is time to put some crappie and pike in there. The only thing i ever fish Ford for is carp. I think you should pull your boat out and come fish winnewanna with me!

mud lake impoundment? my boat? right like there is no way it would launch there if we did manage to get it off the trailer..we'd just run aground as much as she drafts!..last time i was there u could walk the peninusula and cast and get a few pike...still the same?..if you're looking for pike n crappie..how bout whitmore..they have nice average size to the crappie there and occassional big northern

it wasen't overly shallow last time i went. Off the point i think your talking about it was 7-8 feet. The pike we saw in there were nice sized so i'm looking forward to tossing some rapala's, spoons, and spinnerbaits at them.

Hey Ryan,
I went to Winnewanna early spring last year with Sigman. It was too early for Crappie but we spotted a lot of pike in the shallows. Be careful in that lake! It does have some very shallow areas and a lot of stumps which are good for Crappie gettin'. The deepest part we marked I think was about 12 to 16ft in front of the dam.

the dam? where is the dam located? When we went in late september the lake was choked with weeds so we could really only stick to the main lake body. Maybe i will have to do some adventuring. Those stumps are nothing my little 14 footer cant handle:evilsmile

When you leave the boat dock go down the canal and the dam is just past where the lake opens up on your right. Just an earthern dam. Didnt catch crap that day but it was REAL early in the year.

we fished that area and i never even noticed it there. We will have to check it out. I'm hoping for our 3 man limit of pike and a handful of crappie...We shall see.

We fished until about 1 with no pike. Caught one small bass and caught some gills around the islands when we got bored. I saw you out there i was in a 14' baby blue aluminum. My cousin was in the front and i was in the back. Got sick of not catching anything so we went over to my favorite panfish lake (if you have read any of my inland lake posts you know what one im talking about) We caught a lot of bass and some really nice red ears. One of which was just a hair under 10 inches. Caught a bass that was right around 3 pounds on my ultra light what a blast! Will probably be back out chasing gills next weekend as well. It shouldn't be long before they are up in the shallows in spawning numbers.
