Fished holloway saturday morning with no success. My first trip out this year so i will not complain.
Water was still down and dirty. I ran fast/slow, crankbaits and meat. Water temp was around 56 degrees.

I fished Sunday for the first time this year and it was still cool and dirty and about a foot down yet. Did manage to get 3 fish one about 3 lbs and 2 shorties and lost a nice one right at the boat, trolling cranks was what worked for us!! Stable weather for a couple of days and it will turn on!!

Scott,
How far back on the boards do you run your crankbaits? It seems like difficult to run them near the bottom as the depth changes so much when trying to follow the river chanell. One minute you are 22 and the next 7.
I was running my Hot-n-Tots at 80 and 100. Black/Gold Silver/Green Perch

It just depends on where i'm fishing and what lure im using!! I caught one fish in 5 fow, two fish in 7 fow and lost one in 14 fow so they were scattered around.

On Sunday I saw a 9 lber that a friend caught, and today another friend sent me a pic of a 10 lber that came out of there. They have been catching fish every time they go out. I will be out there by Friday. Still getting boat ready.

Fished tonight for a while. Caught a 14" on the first troll and that was it. Tried tots, shad raps, jigs/twister tails, and harnesses. Big water was a little rough for the boat we were in so we stuck to the river channel.

Hoover works for me and I can tell you that he has been working a lot lately. Not a lot of time to fish for him but I know he misses it. I'm sure he'll start up again soon.

my dad and I tried it as well sunday night one bump and that was it. All the fish we marked seemed to be two three feet off the surface. Probly will hit it again this weekend.

Slowpoke - I'll look for You, I've got a White dual-console Pro-V with a 175 Opti on the back. Pull it with a red Silverado. Have only talked with My fishing Partner a couple of times in the last few Months - He's been REAL busy. He will be fishing the Chapman Tourny with Me. C-man

Fish a few times last week with ok success with my father. Ended up with 5 the first day all around 15-18 in. 4 the next day about the same size, 6 the next day and thursday being the last day we fished, we limited out with the largest being 21. Tough fishing and the key was to get away from the other boats out there. But now its back to college.:(

Good job on the eyes Naterp, thats the best report Ive seen all year. Im assuming they all came trolling? Anyone try drifting with jigs/crawlers?

No trolling for me.. Drifting and casting. Crawlers and leeches with orange/green/pink jig head was the ticket. have to be moving pretty fast to or the catfish would hit it. Even caught a few nice smallmouths.

Limited out last night as the front was moving in 6pm-10pm, all great eaters, 16-18 inchers. Drifting a orange/green floating lindey rig with crawlers:D

Fished Wed. afternoon and went 5 for 9. 2-15", 1-18" and 2-21". Also caught a slab spec. The wind was hard to deal with too. All fish caught trolling tots.
