I will be hunting in Montcalm county. Good population of birds this year. Have had good success in years past. This will be my 5th year hunting Turkeys. Always get the left over hunt but it has been great. Don't know if it will be this year with the good weather so early. Enjoy the season!!!

With luck, I'll be hunting in Allegan Co. I have a few spots in mind that usally contain a couple big Toms along with plenty of hens and jakes. I'm going out this tomarrow to do a bit of scouting.

Steve- I hope to get my permit up in Presque Isle County, lots of birds. By the way thanks for keeping this board free of junk, there is nothing for the antis here. Congrats!!

My partner and I applied for Charlevoix first, Newaygo second and Monominee third. We have permission to hunt about 1000 acres of private ground around Charlevoix. There are about 8 hunters that have permission there. If that doesn't go, I am kind of looking forward to camping in the UP and hunting public ground from there.

Slugshot1, I have hunted in the State land (along the Cedar River)in Menomenee Co. quite a bit. I have yet to see any Turkeys there.
I have seen them on the way in to Dagget and Stephenson, on the farm's. Have you scouted out where you plan to hunt, if you get a permit there?

I drew Barrt County, first hunt...scouted yesterday, located three toms, each with a small harem. This will be my first time turkey hunting...any advice for hunting toms under those circumstances? I should probably plan on being really mobile? The property is quite hilly. mixed w/ pasture land and crop field, and butts into Barry SGA...
