Boy, for those of us who are waiting to hear the chatter of successful hunts, (not necessarily meaning killing a turkey, just having a good hunt) this appears to be a very quiet day.
I went scouting this morning, as a backup for my teammate, and saw one hen and did not hear a gobble. I did see two long beards, while driving, courting a hen on forbidden property though. They were in full strut and were gobbling, at 8:40 AM.
Spoke to a couple of other hunters who said that the birds had shut down compared to earlier in the week and they were hearing very little.
Maybe the morning will bring a new tone.
