Plan on heading up there this weekend weather permitting. My dad hasn't been fishing in about 5 years, I want to make sure he has a good time. Where would be a good place to start? Bass, Pike, Walleye, whatever, I just want to make sure there is plenty of catching.

There is a sunken island out in the middle of the lake, that would be a good place to start, then I would just troll around the edges.

Anyone know where to get a topo map of the lake? Checked DNR, didn't see it.

To be honest, you'd be better off finding a different lake. I woudn't drive any distance to fish Lake Nepp. It's mostly stunted blue gill these days. Walleye, forget it.

Well, I guess I know what the primary forage species is now:D Walleye would just be a tasty treat, if the bass will bite my dad and I will be happy. Anyone ever tried swimbaits here? ie Basstrix, Berkley Hollowbelly, etc.

Fished there last spring about this time, RJSwirls caught a nice 25 inch walleye near the island. We were drifting and he caught it on a bodybait, That was all we caught.

You might get lucky and get into something but it's not named "lake nevercatchathing" for nothing. Only about 12 parking spots too. Good luck.
Seriously though, there are some nice fish in there, just hard to catch.

Lake Nepessing contributed to my two worst fishing outings last season. I guess three if you count the one time I went ice fishing there. Go a little southwest and find another body of water if you want to have more fun.

Does anyone know water the water temperature is right now? Also, is it clear, stained, muddy? I like to plan ahead. Don't want to get a plan together only to have the water be to murky or clear. Thank you again everyone for your assistance.
