I'm just wondering if anyone here knows if Mott Lake has had verified VHS cases. Thanks

Have you heard of any fish kills? That could suck for many reasons, and I do believe you can get on the DNR's web site and ask them personally via email, and get somewhat of a prompt answer. Good Luck

Why not give a phone call to the DNR Fisheries Biologist for that area??

Because my brain couldn't come up with something that obvious, lol.

Not possible, the Ecoli in the lake would kill the VHS...LMAO

But in all seriousness, I live within rifle range of the lake, I haven't heard of anything along those lines. I'm an Environmental Science major and my cousin is a county parks ranger. If anything goes on with that lake, I'm keyed into it pretty well.

VHS has a pretty good right hook, and a devastating jab, it'd be close. We'll have to wait for the Pay-Per View, lol.

Thanks for the info, I was just wondering if I'd have to disinfect all my stuff again.

I walk the paths along Mott frequently and observed a shad kill late last December after warmer temps. I reported it to the DNR and they replied that it was probably a "winter kill". They didn't seem too concerned!

Same thing happens as long as I can remember, one excellent example is the small pond that feeds into Mott south of Branch road, it's always littered with winter kill feeders.
Over the past 15 years Mott has really began to clean itself up very nicely. The main up stream pollution point source would be the land fill off Mt. Morris road by Holloway. Other than that it's pretty clean.
