finally broke the ice last night. Cold and nasty casting my butt off again with jigs and twisters spoons and nada for a few weeks ( except for my trip to the detroit river last wed ) finally got bored and tossed on a 5 oz sinker and about 4 foot up tied on a 18" crawler harness and worm and low and behold after it finally caught bottom out in the current I picked up 1 19 1/2 " 1 22 1/2" eyes. nothing for anyone casting the jigs and I am just glad to have broke the ice from shore on the St. Clair. Goes to show keep your mind going and your options open... ( it was a gold colored perch harness if that makes a difference at all)
Anyway am going back here today to give it another shot due to my jigging the Detroit River plans pushing off until tommorow.
