Brevoort Lake

Fellow Fishers, We will be going to Brevoort Lake on the 23rd till the 30th of May. Two questions: 1: Is there still ice on the lake? and 2: Can someone please give us the name and phone number of a good bait shop in the area?

Ice is off and there are more walleyes this year than have been in a while. Not sure about bait in St.Ignace, though there is a place (new Bass Pro) in Mackinaw City that probably has bait.

Depending on what type of bait you are looking for, Jim Weirs (Bass Pro) in mackinaw city will have everything from minnows to leaches. The Holiday Gas Station In St. Ignace will have minnows and crawlers, and possible leaches. The Ace Hardwear, or Aco Hardwear in Moran should have crawlers, and possibly leaches. My grandparents live on the lake and it is a great lake to fish. There is a state campground on the lake and it really is a nice little spot. Lots of fish opps on this lake. Just have to find em.
