cool weather??

im pretty new to morel hunting but im heading up to crawford co. for the last few days of turkey season and was gonna stay a few extra to find sum shrooms... but i was wondering with the cool weather up there if itll be worth it?????

That's a good question. I don't know how the cool weather will effect them either. I'm sure someone on here will know though. I was curious myself. I know it won't matter by the time I go up on mothers day weekend, but it's a good question.

checked two spot's yesterday with nothin. pretty dry and cold. They say when the ground temp reaches 55 or better, and the night's stay above 50 for a week or so. lots of rain, some shade from the leaves to keep the moisture. some humidity would be good. I dont think the cool temps could be good. 29 degrees as I speak.......

The cold wont help but its not gonna stop a few from poping, I found 6 fresh greys yesterday, and 2 in the same spot thisa morning, one night of upper 20's low 30's wont hurt it too bad, a week would but things should be fine, ground temp didnt drop like air temp did. good luck

I believe it can only improve after today. They are a hard thing to predict but the next shot of rain should bring a new flush of darks out. So I hope anyways...
