Thinking about heading up this way over Memorial day for a long weekend. Looking to do a little big lake fishing and some Inland lake fishing as well as I can pull off both with my 16 boat.:D I have never fished the area & would really appreciate any info on a good lake for panfish & any help with some places to stay. We will have a tent if the weather is decent, but may grab a room for a night if it's wet or cold.

Thanks

Glen Lake... smallies. Lake Ann... Smallies. If the weather holds and the wind is right you can launch your boat right into Sleeping Bear Bay in Glen Arbor. Lakers, Kings, and Coho can be caught here. Stop into the bait shop in Glen Arbor (right on M-22 as you come into town) and ask about the big lake fishing... they will give you some honest info.

If you want more info on where to get some bass and pike shoot me a PM and I'll try to give you some info. Been fishing the area for over 30 years.

Waterfoul certainly knows Glen Lake, PM him if you haven't. Lake Ann was also just listed as a great smallie lake in Michigan Sportsman Mag. There are a couple of campgrounds for the National Lakeshore right in that area that are definitely worth checking out.

Long Lake and Green Lake have nice state parks on them. GREAT fishing there.

DH Day campground is one of the best i've stayed at around here. I haven't fished Glen Lake except ice fishing but i'll ask my bf for more info. He's lived here most of his life. Also, PM me right before you head up. I'll get some info from my bf. He works at the local marina and should have some reports. Plus we should be out on the big lake before then fishing as well. I hope..:)
