We are official now, we had a tournament! It was a team paper T on Thompson Lake in Howell. Yours truly and my partner won...of course! Just kidding!

It was a good day for us, our top 5 fish were 19.25", 18.75", 17.75" and (2) at 17.25". All Largeheads. 4 out of 7 teams limited.

If you convert the length to weight (which is not a perfect science) it comes to 18lbs.

Rat-L-Traps in 4-7 foot range was key.

Our youth club will be out there on Saturday hopefully doing well too.

Anyone interested in club fishing...it is not too late. We have (2) drop tournaments this year and 7 left to fish so you can still come out and make a name for yourself! We fish for trophies, sometimes prizes, fun, and extreme braggin' rights!

Tight Lines!

Thanks for the report. I've only ice fished Thompson Lake and was not impressed. Did you guys take home any money?

We don't fish for money...at least it is not mandatory. Side pots are up to the angler. Our club took the money aspects out of T fishing to promote a friendlier environment where we want to help each other catch fish. We are still competitive, but we don't get ugly about things like some anglers can when it comes to spots, lures, advice, etc...

There are plenty of money clubs and tournament trails around. Ours is an alternative to that scene. We have members that fish BFL, NBAA, etc...

Our club fees are nill also. With the price of gas, who has anything left?

I agree with you. I fish with the Oakland County Bass Anglers and we don't fish for money. There's a money pot with 75% to big bag and 25% to big fish. When 35 guys chip in, you can win quite a bit of money. Too bad I've never seen any:lol: Our club dues are $75 each year and $35 for junior members. Our club is competitive as well, but we still share information and rarely get in arguments or disputes. We're just a bunch of guys who need an excuse to get out fishing:lol:

Nice club, nice premise. No cash, all brag! Save the cash for gas & tackle! Good idea guys.;)

Thompson was one of my favorite lakes last year. That sounds like a great club, unfortunately most of the tx's are pretty far for me.

We do like to mix it up a bit. We try and fish lakes that have healthy populations of fish and don't get pounded with boaters and other anglers (which is getting impossible to find in Southern MI.). The exception is Lake St. Clair which is the finest bass lake around these parts.
The out of towners are nice because it is two days of solid fishing with no distractions and a chance to hang out with fellow anglers.

Youth tournament was not great
i only caught 3 and all were 1-2 inches under keeper size.
I think the biggest fish caught was 15-16 inches dont remember size
wasnt paying attention when they were saying who got what
To busy thinking on how to win next tournament.:D
