Here is a story most can appreciate. Salmon Stakes tourney this past weekend. Fishin' bud calls and says we should enter. I didn't. Still went fishing! Caught 7 w/Bassmad2, one nice one, 6 lbs. 12 oz.! Got a call at 4 pm that the winning Walleye was only 5 lbs. 71/2 oz.! OUCH! had a $500 fish and didn't capitalize. Moral of the Story - If you are gonna be fishing anyway, spend the $10 bucks on entry fee.

If I didn't have to work Saturday I would've called sooner. Shame on me for not reminding you Fri. night but when I found out I had to work sat I had a few POPs if you know what I mean to ewase the sting.. Don't get me wrong I love money but I would prefer a check for fishing over a check from work any day...
Thats ok there are plenty more tourneys to win.:rolleyes:

Going fishing while your buddy has to work - free
jigs - $7.00
fin-s minnows - $4.00
stinger hooks - $4.00
forgetting a $10.00 torney fee and catching the big fish -- Priceless
Sorry couldn't resist :lol::lol:
Probably be bank fishing the rest of the year now but man that was good....

Yea it was a good time, but someone has to remember I am new at trying to hold the lines vertical in the water. From and west to a south to a west then back to south wind it was unreal and hell trying to keep the boat from blowing back up the river on Saturday. And that was a nice fish BTW, Mackie was suppoused to call me back but he must have been on the anti-depressants after he hear the winning weight. :lol:

If you decide to try your luck next year at the Salmon Stakes remember you need to sign up your boat and crew after you buy the $10 dollar ticket. Just buying the ticket doesn't get you registered. Hate to see you catch the winner again next year only to find this out..........

Thats about as bad as last year I was entered and did fish the marble eye.I fished off the wall in Port huron the night before and caught a 34 inch 10lb walleye not even 8 hours before tourney.Could have been $500 winner but Im as honest as they are didnt do anything wrong like cheat even though I new the fish would have won the tourney for largest walleye.By the way thats the largest walleye I ever caught in my life.

Dont want to make ya feel bad Aaron, but that would have been a $1000 fish, they upped the stakes last year......

Wow it's so great to have such good friends. LOL! It's all good stuff, and I knew you guys would have fun with it. The important thing is this. I was out on the water fishing and did catch fish. The $500 would have been nice, but at least I was out there fishing, and didn't miss out on that! And had I bought a ticket, who knows if I would have caught that fish. Hey Reel, no problem! Congrats! There just aren't enough days in the week to fish, so fish 'em every chance you get. Tight lines guys, tight lines.
