Has anyone fly fished for specs with wet flys, and how did you do? I went out the other day and they were in shallow but would not bite on jigs very well. They are only in about 2ft. of water any pointers.

skeeters and adams...... and a few different streamers have worked for me....cant really give you names on the streamers i tied them myself with no paterns.....kind of a royal coachman type thing would be the best explanation i guess lol
id say the mosquito in size 10 was the best i had....white moths worked well too.......its a blast if you can get em to bite

We caught about 25 the other day on an olive wooly bugger. They were in deeper than 2 feet of water, however. Here's my daughter with the biggest one of the day.

Great Pic, MT!!!
Personally, I would go larger than a traditional wet fly
Since you're fishing in 2' a clouser in an 8-10 2-3XL with beadchain instead of hourglass eyes should be the ticket. Add enough flash to get their attention. Short little jerky 3" strips have worked for us lately and many have come on the drop.

ive caught them on streamers such as wolly buggers and clousers as mentioned above, but when they are not on the bite or a cold front has just moved in, small midge nymphs in size 18-20 work pretty nice. l like brassies and disco midges in red with some kind of mylar flash to them. hope this helps
