Thinking about going out smallie fishing this weekend if the weather permits wondering where should I start. I will be launching at the Air force base.

Bass season hasn't started yet, thus it's illegal to fish for them. - Bryon

Read the rules, you can fish bass catch/release starting on the last Sat in April. Click on the link below and read Note 2

That would be this saturday! Id try by the rock wall in front Clinton River first. Got a ton in there early last year. Still in walleye mode right now. You can lauch right at the mouth there too. There is also a hump or two in between the barracks and the point which Ive done good at.
