Put the boat in last night for the first time. The wife and I decided to try our hands at jigging for the first time. The wind made boat control tough to say the least. We had two bumps but no one was home. Fished north of Marine City for a while then south of the boat ramp. Marked quite a few fish. No takers. Probably due to the fact that we had no idea what we were doing!

Anyhow it was nice to be back on the river again and the old Sea Nymph was flawless. Will hit it again in the next couple days to try jigging again. Biding my time till its time to pull harnesses...:evilsmile

Once you get the hang of jigging you wont want to pull harnesses. Nothing like setting the hook with a lightweight spinning rod. Pick a day with light winds next time your out and keep your line vertical and you should get some.

Please explain why the jig should be verical.
I'll be home in 10 days, retired and ready to learn.
