N. Channel Salmon!

took the boat out for a it's maiden 2008 voyage. everything worked great, so I thought I would enjoy the sunset and troll for a while. I put on a silver hot n tot, and after 15 minutes of nothing - BAM - fish ON :) I wasn't sure what I had, but after this thing took off with most of my line I know it had to be a salmon. Down to the last of my line, I got it to turn around and I was gaining ground on it, but it took off again :help:
it did this one more time and I finally tired it out. I remove the lure and hold up the fish, but there's not a soul around. I sit back down with the fish off the side of the boat and as I am reaching for the stringer it flops off my hand and away it goes :tdo12: :( :dizzy:
mental note: always put fish IN the boat / bring a net / get a bigger boat with a live well :)

That is good news, sounds like you hooked a king. We have been getting coho's on the river for a while now but I have not heard of any kings showing up yet. Headed out this afternoon with k-zoo sniper so hopefully we will have a good report to follow.

I was there just at dark too, messin around. Had something blast a high line, didnt hook up. Wnt 3 for 7 on cohos yesterday morning, didnt get a rip past 8:30 when the wind kicked up. Cherry Beach again.

by the way - water temp. 44 degrees
