havent seen much on smallies yet. thinking about going out to crocker saturday morning. is anyone hitting them? or is it to early? whats the best way to fish that area i havent been out there before. and are there any pike out there? thanks

Of course it is legally too early for them. However the Black Creek inside of Metro Beach has always been a hot spot for smallmouth this time of year. This past weekend I went to Brandenburg park and caught 4 in 20 minutes while using a slip bobber with half of a crawler. The trick there is to get your bait next to or under the pier. Everyone always casts out too far for some reason.
