I was told by a friend at work the the Planning Commission had an meeting to outlaw outside storage of boats, RV, trailers and even some trucks. Trucks I believe that in the past may have been considered commercial like F250, but these trucks are being used by us weekend warriors (at least before gas went over 3.50). From the quick survey of the issue, the commission seems to take wide appoach at outlawing everything rather than looking at a realistic issues.

Here is the email from the City's "contact us" link cindy.stewart@troymi.gov (cindy.stewart@troymi.gov)

I lived in Troy for 5 years until we sold our house last year and moved back out to New Baltimore.

Here's (not so) funny story...I had some neighbors...the kind of people you usually see on Cops. Total WT.

I'm sitting on the couch one night watching TV and all of a sudden I notice the bright purple light across the street. I look closer, and my neighbor has decided to set up a lighted Taco Bell Drive-Thru sign in front of his house. Next day I go to the city offices to complain and ask that the city have them move it. The code enforcement guy tells me no problem, they can't have that sign in there yard.

A couple weeks go by and the sign is still there. So I call the code enforcement officer, and he tells me that he went over and looked at it, and because they secured it to the ground with cement and planted flowers around it, it was considered "landscaping".

What a joke. Thankfully we sold our house shortly after that ! :yikes:

Maybe you should have accidentally did a lawn job thinking it was a Taco Bell open late? We all get the muchies after a few beers :chillin:
