One of my favorites for the early season and easy to tie

Thread: black 6/0
2 black goose boits
Dubbing: black opossum
Hackle: 2 turns of black hen
Rib: gold wire

The key to this pattern is the position of the biots. They're tied in only at the head and secured along both sides with the ribbing wire

Sinks like a rock and is perfect for a 2 fly rig with an unweighted dropper

I like the way the goose biots are tied on... never thought of doing that. Makes it look realistic... gonna have to tie a few of those.
