You've got my attention, never fished Sanford. Where's Shametamer been?Is he knocking the few puddles he missed in the midwest off his "to fish" list? May I bring a guide????

Watched a 2 guys in a lund boat equipped with a 4stroke yamaha catch and release a 44 incher lastweekend. They were trolling really fast with 2 rods right in the propwash and 2 rods back a little further. Was pretty cool to watch the action. Goodluck to all who fish, the lake has had a bunch of floating weeds in it over the last 2 weeks and hopefully some of it will clear before your tourney.

If you want to bring a guide that's not a problem.

Sanford should be fishing good at the end of September and has started to pick up over the last couple weeks. Yep, the guy you saw catch that fish is one of the Michigan Muskie Alliance members that lives in the area.

It will be a good time and there will be some cool raffle prizes. Beckman net, muskie baits, some Michigan Muskie Alliance logo wear. After the tournament there will be a Pig Roast nearby in Birch Run.

The real bonus is that the money raised benefits the fishery. We were able to assist the DNR this year by bringing in 5000 muskie fingerlings that will be stocked in inland lakes this fall. What's really cool is that because of the efforts of Michigan Muskie Alliance there will be a new muskie lake started this year. Now that's progress for an organization that has only existed in Michigan less than 2 years.

I very well may be incorrect, but, isn't Birch Run like 40 miles from Sanford Lake ? (or more)

The pig roast is actually Saginaw but I guess I keep saying Birch Run because we're trying to get spouses involved. The instant I metioned Birch Run to my wife she was paying attention.

I wish I was able to make it to the tourney and the pig roast but have a conflict in plans. Hope everybody out there gives it a shot though, it will definitely be a great time with a great bunch of guys! The thing about a musky tourney is it could only take one cast to win folks!!
