Hello fellow "ICEMEN" Looking foward to kicking some butt :evil: I'll be hunting antrim co. in the eastport area.I've got the 4-21/4-27 hunt.Planning on heading up on thurs. night the 24th,and hunting 25th thru 27th.I've done very well over the year's and hope to help the team with a nice big long-beard (knock on wood :lol:)Where/when are the rest of ya hunting?

i'll be in the woods april 21st if it goes like last year i will be in for a long day the birds roost on the property i hunt and fly down across the swamp anothers guy place and they leave until noon than the big boys start looking around again. so my plan is to have a bird in the oven just before dark at the latest. but as all plans go you never now hunting in grattan just northeast of grand rapids

hey guys i have the may5th to may31th hunt.
most of my hunting will be in western Mecosta county, and possibly Ottawa if no luck up north. Have been seeing the birds pretty regularly. cant wait to get out there!

oka all my fellow members we are signed in and awaiting the start of the season.
1. what are your hunt dates
2. what unit location are you hunting
has been brought up to me that that someone could get lucky and have a chance to hunt some very prime land.
i'm not able this year have the wrong unit for it but i can tell you this much you will see birds looking for an early hunt in the alcona area

i'll be hunting private land in the zz area i start on the 21st and have two weeks to hunt

miss one bird and you never get to live it down. he is the one we need for this maybe i could get the video and post it as my bird it has the beard and spurs all in it just missing the ruler and the tag look at it in slow motion and you will even see the pellets flying by its head:lol:

yep my own team givin too me worst part is marty has my miss all on video and it was a nice bird. guess thats what make father and sons memories. and believe me he shows it to all the grandkids every time we go up

went to let the dogs out this morning and i had this red/blue/ and white thing at my target in the back yard had the wife get the camera and he went in to full strut. after about a half hour we had 4 long beards and one hen playing on the hill. guess i have a back up plan now

You dont have to be a champion caller to call in a turkey! trust me my 9 year old uses a mouth call and has called in a few! just get out there and give it a whirl..like they say you cant shoot em on your couch:lol:

WELL TONIGHT.....WAS UMM DISTURBING.....first sit called for 20 min er so nothing(keep in mind i cant call worth shiot)second sit called in a tom couple of jakes and some hens..my ol man moves his feet..he didnt see em and there gone..then the jass ***** who lives next door drives out in his property right tight to the property line stops and yells"you got permission to be out here" we say yes..then hes like o ok sorry for distubing ur hunt..YEAH THANKS JACK *****..NOW I CANT HUNT THAT PROPERTY TILL SATERDAY grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry guy's,I ended up with the big skunk:sad: Bird's did'nt talk much this week-end (or I just did'nt hear them over the wind :rant: )Hunted pretty hard and did come close to dusting a nice double-beard.Just could'nt get him to leave his girl's.Had him headed my way a couple time's,but could'nt get him closer than 70-80yd's.I did call a grey fox in to about 10 feet :yikes: Thru my arm's up and yelled BOO!!! that fox about jumped out of his skin :lol::lol: Had a great time and can't wait till next year.Good luck to the rest of the team. GO ICEMEN!!!!!

:rant:got out at 5:30 this morning..herd 3 gobbles far away.. left there seen a hen in one of my feilds..no toms:rant:...seen a tom and a hen in another feild time we would get out there they would have been in the woods:rant:....went to another feild nothing:rant:.....went to another spot about 8 am called and had a tom gobble back:)..but didnt come out of the think brush he had to be only 50 yards from us but too brushy:rant::rant: ahh i dunno fellas im trying....:sad::rant:

Got out at 5:30 to a diffrent spot..was there till 7:30 nothing:sad:...went to diffrent spot..herd a gobble as soon as we got out the truck..went back to where the gobbles where got set up took 45 minutes for him to come on nice bird......he walked out about 45 yards..the best and closest shot i would have..bam..knocked him over he starts flapping around..i get up fast bc he takes off coulnt get another shot at him...:rant::rant::rant::rant:
well COULDNT FIND HIM:rant::rant:....i have no luck with flippen turkeys..my last day to hunt and gets all messed up..ive got one more chance tonight:mad::rant:

I had birds talking for two hours this morning. Had about a 8 inch beard cross my food plot but he seem nervous and didn't hang around long. Out of bow range but if I had the mossberg he'd be in stuffing about now;)

Damn ticks were out again today. I sprayed cutters on me but I didn't spray my little pack and found one in it. Bad year for them. Going back out tonight love the late season but the ticks got to go:rant:

Well i struck out very strange fior this area. Bird have left for a while now. Seen a couple hens and a small jake but nothing worth wasting a tag for.

I gues all in all i have a pretty slow season for sightings:confused:

We'll get them next year.......m:D
