Sounds good guys. I went out Sat. morning and had a long beard talking his head off until 6:40am and then never heard from him again. I got to 125 or so yards from him. Man what a great sound on a cool ,clear and calm morning. Life is good.;)

Hi Guys,

I've been assigned to this team I believe. Used to chase the turkeys quite a bit but got away from it for a while due to work and loss of a private land spot in Alcona Co. After retiring last year I got back into it (ZZ unit) had a couple of close encounters but no turkey. Have a couple of new places this year and hopefully I can get a long beard and help the team out.

This morning we were surrounded, in all directions. I've never heard the woods come alive, and stay alive for that long of time. It was enough to make the hair on your neck stand on end. UNREAL EXPERIENCE.

Team Lazy D got another HOG this morning. J.D. got a 10 1/2 beard with both spurs over 1 inch that Bob and myself called in. Hard hunting not alot of talking. This year is crazy and lucky. 2 book birds scoring over 12 in 2 days:dizzy: The last 5 birds we have taking have scored over 12.:yikes: We grow them big at the Lazy D Ranch! I missed a bird that was a little to far and behind some brush today. It took off fine and was not hurt. We are going to leave them alone until sat. morning because we have been hitting them hard so they need a cool down. I'm the only Pro Staffer left to not punch my tag but if I don't that's cool. I called for my buddy Bob and he got his first ever bird and I tagged team with Bob again:lol:to get J.D. his 2nd ever tom. I have had the best season ever. Good luck to all and remember it's not always about killing a bird (but it is nice)it's all the cool things that take place during the hunt and being with TEAM LAZY D:corkysm55

Mike, I guess you do know how to call pretty good. I am going to give it a couple more days with my bow and think about changing to my gun. I really dont want to, but I really would like to kill a bird and am kind of worried about them catching on to my calls and decoys. :(

Well guys, I bagged my turkey yesterday. After missing a long shot on a nice Tom Wed. (about 35 - 40 yds with my old stiff body twisted around a corner, my right shoulder still hasn't forgiven me for attempting that shot) I shot my bird at about 10 yards, he was very accommodating. My BIL wanted to know why I carried that "Cannon" (3.5" SX2, my goose gun) for two days when all I needed was a 410. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: I told him I couldn't see the bird at first but could hear him breathing. ;)

Not quite as nice as your guys birds, he was sporting a fairly nice beard but was a little shy in the spur department. It weighed 18 3/4 lbs (on the kitchen scale), 10 1/4" beard, and both spurs were in the 5/8" range. He had been doin' some serious strutting as his wing tips were fairly worn. I'll post pics later.

No dad just wants to call one time and if the turkey dont gobble then just leave him alone. I call until he gobbles and lets me know that he heard me, then I leave him alone.

That is why he has to take me to kill him a turkey. Ask him where his bird was heading that he killed.:coolgleam

She is too busy hanging out with her friends. We have tried to get her to go. I am trying to get mom to go out and kill a bird. She said she would so we will see.

Well I am glad to see that we are all doing so well! I shot my first Eastern Turkey yesterday morning at 0730! Not the giants you guys have all tagged. But hey, I am half way through my North America Turkey Grand Slam! He was just a big jake. weighed out at 19 lbs. has a 6'' beard, 1/4" spurs. Really pretty bird. And he tasted Great last night for dinner! I will get my pics up when I get off duty Fri morning. What a great hunt.

Not exactly. He was supposed to be home at 830pm. He still wasn't home at 930pm, wasn't answering his phone, AND, he was supposed to be at work at 10pm.

That coupled with the fact that she "thought" he hunted turkey's from a tree stand (some women just don't know), she had thought he had fell out of a tree and broke his neck.

Well guys...last day, last chance and I bagged a bird. Not a big one...I have 3 book birds but I just could not connect on the big one this year. My goal was to have my son (10 years old) get the first shot...He had a HUGE bird well within my range but we tried to get it closer for him and it took off (at least 11inch beard with good kickers).

Oh well today's last chance left me with a scramble and I was fortunate enough to get a bird. 6 inch beard with little kickers (jake) pics will follow later today!

I wish he could have been bigger...but it's better than getting skunked!! My son and I sat across a field from each other and it came to me...next year we work a little harder for him!!

Do what I did, delete some of the pics in your gallery that ya no longer want, either that or pay for more space, whichever floats your boat. Just noticed ya only have 6 pics in your gallery ya should have room ?? Checked your gallery you didn't resize your 2 turkey pics delete 'em and resize 'em then they won't take up all the space in your gallery. I usually try to resize to about 500 pixels x 375 pixels so's not to take up too much space.

No need to delete 'em, open the picture in whatever gallery you have it in, below the picture are a bunch of icons the one on the bottom left is the edit icon click on it, when ya get to the edit screen you can change the gallery ya got it in. If ya have problems PM me.
