I leave tomorrow for the Big Ten Classic Bass Tournament in Indiana (hosted by Purdue this year). ESPN will be there, and their coverage will be taped and aired at a yet to be decided date. Lots of fun sponsors (i.e. Cabelas), prizes, and guest speakers are lined up. Every Big Ten school will be there except Wisconsin. Should be fun! GO MSU!!

Where the he!! are you guys fishing??? I'm from Indiana (grew up there, but went to Grand Valley State for College). I didn't know Purdue had any water near by to fish in. Sure there's the Wabash River (and I use the term River loosely). But its Dominated by the Greater Indiana Brown Trout; you may recoginze this species -- it is tapered on both ends, has no visible fins, and prefers to "spawn" in your toilet). Other than that about the only thing Purdue has to offer is Hog Crap!!! At least its easy to find from Michigan....Go South till you smell it and west till you step in it:D

And just keep this in mind, I'm a Purdue student!!!! I'm currently working on my Master's Degree in Enviornmental Engineering there. That woud figure, with all of the great fisheries surrounding most of the Big 10 schools, they would pick Purdue. Whats next... Illinois????

A reservoir named Salmoine (not sure on spelling of it). It is supposed to be a great bass fishery. It is a very big body of water.

Salamonie is about a half hour directly North of Where I grew up. I still fish it occasionally. It is a good fishery in terms of Indiana fishery, but not in terms fishing in general. Its about 2500 acres and suffers from too much nutrients from the surrounding farms (as most reserviors in Indiana).

However, you are fishing it during the best time of the year for that lake which is from late summer up through Drawdown in October. With nearby Mississinewa Reservoir empty due to problems with the Dam, expect ALOT of boats both fishing and jacking around. Its going to be in the low 90's around here this weekend, so expect a lot of Jet Skis.

Good Luck and Let us know how you do.
