Looking for Motor Opinion

What do you guys think about Mariner outboards? Saw a boat with one and I'm a little leary. I have no experience with these. Should I stay away?

Now I don't know a whole lot about outboard engines but I do know that a mariner will last a long time. I've heard that you sacrafise speed for the longevity of these motors though. Iguess it depends on what you want more.

Mariners are supposed to be pretty good motors. I think that they're made by Mercury, or at least the same company that makes Mercs. It's kind of like Johnsons and Evinrudes being made by OMC. Never have heard anything out of the ordinary compared to the other brands. Good Luck!

I had a 115 hp Mariner and I now have a 125 hp Merc. both very good motors. Good for trolling. 4 cyl. that only use 2 cyl. under 1800rpm.
