Would like to plan a trip to go there. Maybe as early as next week. Never been there but hear that fishing can be great. Anybody have any useful info ? Been there recently ? When is the best time for walleye/perch? Waiting to hear . Alan

Drove all around it in the van once.
Bait shops are on the West side.
Boat rentals too.
It gets choppy, as it is a good sized lake.
Root Cellar on the North tip is a good place to eat if it's still there.
Beautiful country you won't regret it.

the fish are fairly cooperative at any time of the year...as Trout mentioned, its a large lake, it can get real rough...the fish move around quite abit, very little in the way of structure. old brush shelters(dropped in years ago) are good places to start. strangely the perch can run large, but the eyes are mostly eaters. September might be a good time for a large pike. The lake is not one of the yoopers premier pike lakes, but with all the forage, they are usually quality fish...good luck

My folks just came back from Gogebic on Saturday. When I asked my Dad how the fishing was he told me "It's the slowest it's been in years". That's what the local bait shop told him. They went last year as well and the fishing was much better. Maybe they just picked the wrong week to go. Or it's the the famous quote" You should of been here yesterday!!" :D
