...went out of the SandBar Bar and Restaurant yesterday afternoon...be careful gettin on the ice...after that just slushy on the top...some areas are 10" of good ice...other areas are 5-6" so be careful...heard a couple guys went through when walking further out towards the open water on Tuesday this week...we walked out about 1/2 mile and as soon as we set down found some perch...lots of sortin but about 30 mins in landed some nice ones (suspended...hint...hint)...some 9" and a couple over 10", (1) 11"...we were glad we went to Blue Water Bait to get minnows (3 doz = about 10 dozen!!!) as the fish liked them better than any jig though we did catch some keepers on #2 raps with a red ball...the fishing was best from 3 pm til 5 pm than slowed dramatically...we moved in twice and notta...water was clear to bottom in 4FOW...where we found our fish in 6 FOW (head out and go LEFT more towards point in front of old piers) it was a bit murky (couldn't see bottom unless you had a dead minnow down there)...by the looks of things it might be a morning/midday bite...most anglers bagged it by 6:30 pm???...took home 30 to clean all over 7.5"...today's rain could end it with the shore goin fast!!!...Hawaii for Marlin than Walts than Silvers...yeah baby!!!
