If your are here in Michigan and see a Cougar, I'd say that you most certainly should shoot it....

But use a CAMERA!!!!

Then go home and post the picture here and you'll be a hero. Just make sure you have some evidence in the photo that you are indeed in MICHIGAN.:lol:

But then again, that proof would be hard to get so just print out the picture or make it your desktop wallpaper and just enjoy it for yourself and avoid the ridicule. ;)

To keep it from killing me.
That reminds me of a deer hunt one year when I was just a youngster. It was probably only my second year hunting and a CO happened to stop by our camp to chat. It was the fourteenth and he was just checking the area. Anyway, he stopped in and was talking with us for a few and the subject of bears came up. There had been some in the area apparently and I started to get worried about being attacked. So I asked him "Could I shoot a bear if it were attacking me in the woods?". He replied "You'd better have quite a few claw marks on your rear end to prove it". Needless to say I was a bit uneasy in the woods for a couple years after that.

I think if I saw one I would take a picture of it first cause I always have my camera on me. If that cat even growled at me I would drop it. I guess I pay the price of jail time or whatever else. I am taking no chances. If it were just walking through the woods I wouldnt shoot at it though. It would have to make a move at me first.

Some people are just ignorant... I hope the cougar gets you for shooting at it, thats what I'd do if you shot at me.

By the way they are here, and the population is growing. We've got a small litter near Houghton Lake.

I guess you cant fix stupid.

That's just stupid, why would you want anyone to get attacked by a cougar? Speaking of ignorant.

Fist I wish I could put the music from Twilight Zone to this post and anytime you are going to call other people stupid or ignorant, you have to make sure you can spell "can't" or call immunity..............by the way I call immunity:D

Heck if an animal killed me it would be alot cooler in the afterlife then dying in a car accident which is much more likely. I think winning in the lotto is about on par with being killed by an animal in Michigan.

How can you kill something that doesn't exist:rolleyes:

You can't just go around killing things because you have some fear they may attack you. I'm sure this defense has been used by poachers in the past, you know, that buck was out to kill me with it's horns, honest!

When one of these cats, that don't exist, takes a kid off to lunch while waiting for a school bus in the dark, or starts killing wild stock, your family pet, you get the picture, things will change. We don't need them in Michigan.

They are 'protected' under current law.
