Here's the scoop-

Got my pictures developed from out west at Ritz camera. They sent the negatives to Kodak to have them put on a cd. Got it back last night, and the cd is a picture viewer called Microsoft Picture It! Express 2000. Now, I can save the individual pics as .jpeg or bitmap files using a command on that program. Problem is, the jpeg pics are around 650kb, way over the allowed 250kb. How can I fix the pics so I can post them? Do I have to crop them until they are small enough? Is there any way I can scale them and save?

BTW-The bitmap files are HUGE! Something like 4.5 MB!

Convert them to jpg, then look for a resize option. Those pictures are probably 1500 pixels or so wide... Get them down to 400-500.

I resized them using microsoft photo editor and changing the pixel size. Thanks for the tips. I looked at the faq briefly, and didn't notice the one for microsoft photo editor. I only had to shrink the pics down a little to get them way down to size. They were around 1500 pixels like mike said, but I resized them to 1000 and they dropped down to less than 100kb. That's quite a step down from 650kb...

Thanks guys-
