first would you like to see it offered again
second how much would you pay
for myself yes i would like to see it offered again
lets see
at this time i spend about 140 a year
so i would be willing to spend about 2,000.00 to 3500 for a lifetime license that cover all species including bear and turkey
only thing extra would be elk

I would think anything lottery (bear/turkey) would have to be extra.

is turkey really a lottery? i have been back in michagan almost 6 years and i have never not been able to go out and hunt remember 234 is unlimited and now we have the private land permit in the south
bear maybe but with research you can find the dmus that you can get a permit for each year the only tru permit that is a dream is the elk

Note. I have to get(pay) into all lottery's except bear. I still have to apply for bear, just the cost is covered. The reason bear is covered is there was no lottery when we bought the license. The DNR decided at the time lottery was started was to make our lottery free instead of just giving us a license each year. We had to choice at the time to accept this or get a refund on the license and buy them each year.

So Turkey, Elk, Anterless we have the same lottery/purchase as everyone else.

The lifetime was created to fund a special fund so unless they come up with a new idea I don't see it happening just cause hunters/fisherpeoples would want them. May be a good idea though.

Our licenses have also now paid for themselves.:D

I'm 24 and cant ever remember hearing of a life time licence. Could someone help me out with this. When was it offered, cost, did it cover whatever money was trying to be raised at the time?

I buy all my licences on line and save 15% for each licence. If your buying one licence at a time you dont see the savings so much, but like this year I just bought all species fish, small game, turkey, fur harvester, and saved around $12.00. Thats a doe tag for free.

I'm 59, and a one trick pony (bird hunting) it would be a colossal waste of money here unless maybe they sold each license seperate (lifetime). Otherwise no way in heck.

I am 28 and still consider myself to have a lot of years of hunting left in me. I currently spend $100 a year in licenses so at $1000 to $1500 it would pay off in 10-15 years so I get to hunt and fish for free from about 43 to whenever the good Lord says its over.:D

lets see i was of hunting age the last time they offered the deal so i would have to say mid to late 80's to young to realize the savings it would have offered me at the time. if i recall correctly it was not a big hit back than and did not get the support they were after. but maybe we could offer this every 10 to 20 years and with the way the dnr finds money we should have no problems they'll miss place it for a few years and than it will show up:lol:

Yes,.. I wouldn't mind paying for a lifetime license just as long as the price of it was regulated by the approximate life span you had left to hunt.

All of us "older hunters" with a life expectancy of another 20-30 years (give or take) shouldn't have to foot a $2,000 - $3,000 fee for one. If they offered something like that when I was 20 I'd jump on it in a heart beat.

At my current age I'd be willing to drop about a grand or so for one,.. but that's it ! ;) My luck,... I'd get one and get hit by a car or truck the following day.

:coolgleam I found a listing showing the MCL set rates at $220 for lifetime fishing, $1000 for lifetime hunting, and $1025 for Lifetime Combination (Hunting & Fishing). I seem to remember that when they first came out (about 30 years ago), the lifetime hunting license was about $350 (but I could be wrong, the memory fades with time:sad:) :fish:

It's a good idea but at 58 years old it would be a waste of money for me.:(

I voted yes but more for my sons than me. My current costs are roughly $65 (5 licenses w/15% discount) so it would take quite awhile to recoup my own cost but with my boys being 17 and 14 it would definitely make sense.

I would be all over that.
