Would anyone be intrested in forming a club to fish lakes in the GR area next summer?? We could fish at lake bella vista, silver, lincon, camp, murray, reeds lake, or any other lake around. So far Gomer and I would be intrested.

Mr. Topwater:

I am a bit far to make it to GR but that is a great idea. You don't have to wait until next summer though if you don't want to. I took my wife out to a nearby lake a couple of nights ago in a float tube. The water is still warm and the fish were agressive. Lots of time still left before I put my tube away.

Good Day,

Don't forget that if the BIG lake is calm enough, tubes and small craft like them are awesome around the pier heads or small tribs emptying into the lake. Huge fun to be towed around by a big steelie or salmon. Afterall, the guys flinging lines from the piers can throw only so far and the trollers can get only so close to shore..... hehehe leaving a lot of room yet to be fished.

Tight lines!

hey gomer....

sorry fo the late response, busy at work the last few days....

I am refering to using float tubes, kayaks, or small one man pontoons on the big lake when it is calm enough. You may then use either a fly setup with a sinking line that corresponds appropriately to the depth you are fishing or just a "slow" troll with spinners or other "hard" lures. When you hook up to one of the big ones it can be fun to try and control them... this is also good after ice out when the steelies come near shore as well... but if the waves are up... well then there are other options that are probably best left to another thread. (IE. east coast stiper techniques, although I am not yet an expert in this field)

Good Day,

In answer to your querry, yes! Granted, it is not "easy pickings" but it is fun. Float over the troughs pulling streamers or other bait fish patterns and whammo... fish on.
