sad to see it all go,just 9-10 more months till next hard water.
been a pretty good year, never mind the late start.
been great reading all the threads, see everybody over on the warm water forums.
I'm going to go across the street to the clinton river and see if i can get any use out of this "all-species" license.

Even though my year was quite unproductive on St. Clair I still had fun. The convicts always seemed to be somewhere I was not this year.

For me its time to head north to get the yellow bellies on my favorite inland lakes where I KNOW they will be. My uncle limited out on Saturday on my favorite lake which still has 30" of ice.

Now if I could just meet someone to take my boatless *** out on the river for some eyes..

this is the time you can really get into em

i was out of the Day Sail at Metro Saturday, and there was over 10 inches of ice 200 yards out

I keep on telling my wife, "it's the last time out"! That was about 3 or 4 trips ago that I started telling her that. It's sorta like an addiction. Actually, it is an addiction.

I had one more day off today, and I couldn't resist the temptation. I went out to some canals, hoping for some crappie. Only got 1 nice crappie, but caught over 50 perch. Most were throw backs, but I kept 20 or so, and gave em to a friend of mine who didn't catch much while we were out there.

Now that it's back to work for the next 4 days, it's definitely over for me. The only chance I have to ice fish one more time is up north this weekend. I guess we'll see!

Good luck to you all, and BE CAREFULL out there.

Later,

MDH

Did any of you notice that the wind is predicted to be out of the SW at 20+ tomorrow? :yikes: Still think there is going to be ice after that and the rain we are supposed to get? I was there today and the cracks are already out there, they are just waiting for tomorrows wind to set them free.

Even if I am wrong, I can't afford the cost of a rescue or my life for a keeper or two for every 10 that I catch. I do want the season to continue but think I'll wait a day and see how the ice is in Wednesday.
