When You Buy New Soft Baits Like Grub Ect... Do You Leave Them In The Package Or Take Them Out And Put Them In Your Plastic Tackle Boxes??????
It really depends on what it is. Say it's power bait, then I leave it in the bag unless the zipper comes off the bag like it sometimes does than it goes in a box. If it's something like Mister Twister baits than I just put them in a box. I use a lot of Mister Twister Micro baits for my stream fishing so I find it A LOT easier to just put them in a box and carry that little box with me. I'm sometims walking a mile or more of stream though.

Likewise, for me it depends upon the bait. For unscented baits, if they're very large (musky/pike sized lures), I take 'em out. If they're smaller, packaged baits, I typically leave them in the bag, and spray some attractor scent in the bag for good measure.

I keep a couple 3600's with my favorite soft plastics in it so I can get to them quickly during a tournament. BUT, this only pertains to baits that can be put in the 3600's.... senkos, beavers, worms, etc.... but nothing scented. Baits like Gulp! and Powerbait always stay in the packages they came in.

I always take out a little more than I plan to use and lleave the rest in the package. Not that it probably matters much but I had em get stained or dirty by other stuff and I'd rather they be as bright as possible when I use them.
Same with jigheads. I don't clean the eye's out on 100 of them and carry them in my fishin boxes on the water. The eye's can rust and again, stain something or get stained.
Now I screwed myself a few times cause I thought I had enough and didn't replentish... :banghead3 so there is that...

I usually leave them in the package, especially the scented ones. I find that they store better in the top tray of my tackle box and I leave the slots on my 360 boxes for hardbaits, inline spinners, and jigs.
A good trick that i use in the boat is to buy a 3-ring binder and fill it with the zippered "pencil pockets"...they allow me to organize and store my plastics better in the original bags, and cheaper than the "plastics binders" available at Bass Pro or Cabela's.
