I was wondering what it typically costs to store an RV/travel trailer? The wife and I are kicking around the idea of getting one, and I think I have all the costs identified except for the storage.
I live in a subdivision that doesn't allow outside storage of this kind of thing, plus my garage isn't big enough. I realize the cost would vary on location, etc. But how about a range, like is it $10 per month or $100 per month? Or more? Or maybe I can put it behind someone's barn in exchange for some venison, just thinking out loud here.

The price depends on the area you are in and the local ordinances. On the east side of metro Detroit, the going rate is about $400 - $450 per year for outdoor storage of a 34' RV. The price comes down as you go west where there is a little more open space.

A place I used about ten years ago charged so much a foot per month ($1.00). Exaple: A 30ft rig cost $30.00 per month. Alot of places also have a minumum number of months you have to rent. Also I know from other forums that you are a fisherman. I'm not sure how big your boat is but if I were you I would think about getting a fifth-wheel type trailer. If a trailer is what you get. We wanted a trailer instead of motorhome because they are cheaper and we enjoy leaving the campsite for sight seeing alot. You can legally put a hitch on the back of a fifth-wheel and tow your boat also. I think the overall legth of truck, trailer, and boat can only be so long. Some thing to check first. I know there has been several (almost every) times I wish I had my boat when I was camping or was fishing up north and wish I could have brought the trailer instead of having to stay in a hotel. We often camp close to home so I can set the trailer and go back home to get the boat. Just something to think about. Good Luck!!

P.S. Have fun at RV dealers its worse than dealing with car salesmen I my experence. A good place to look is at RV show. You can wark from dealer to dealer and dicker with them

Thanks guys. I stopped by a place near my office and they quoted me $29/month for a 30 foot travel trailer.
Maybe I can find someone with land who will let me park it on their property for less.
