opossum or raccoon?

my buddy lives in Hartland and brought in this photo. the animal has a raccoon tail but he thinks its a cross of a opossum and a raccoon. Any thoughts?

It's just a Raccoon with a white face. I'm pretty sure Opposums cannot cross breed with Raccoons. As for they are not from the same family, oppossums are a marsupial and raccoons are not. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but I'm pretty sure about this one...

My guess is with Spirit. I trapped an albino raccoon out of my corn patch in Holly. Walking up to it I thought it was a 'possum. Looks like this is a"pie-bald" version.

its hard to tell from that picture because of the lighting but was all the white fur or was some of it skin... could just be mange too?
