..bill norman 'speed clips"(instead o regular snaps)
No thanks. I'll stick with my Rosco snaps. Not BPS, not Cabelas, bot Gander, not Luhr Jensen. Rosco. I can't afford cheap imported snaps.
.rapala 'titanium' line?
Power Pro. Power Pro, and I also use Power Pro.:)
.anyone use fluorocarbon for other than leader material?
Nope.
the chatterstick..have original, mini, trout n panfish etc...just not thinking i need chatter blade with hard body trailer?
Haven't got a clue.
I have heard of a chatterbait, never fished one.
Chatterstick? Is that like the Yang of a Chatterbox?

I bought a pack of Norman Speed Clips that I want to try on my crankbaits this year (take off the o-ring).
I like Power Pro. And Power Pro. And I also use Power Pro. Now where have I heard that before??
Floro is pretty stiff stuff. I mostly use it for leaders... but am going to try the BPS stuff on my shakey head rod this year.
Never fished, and do not own a "chatterstick."

Bill:
I tried some floro on my baitcaster for a while but wasn't too impressed with it. Like it for leaders but not as mainline...............
I do however like Fireline Crystal and have it on one baitcaster and one spinning reel. I have Power Pro on 2 of my downrigger rods/reels so I have used both but haven't felt the need to switch from Fireline on my main rods/reels.
I never use any kind of snaps/clips.........so I can't give you any input about a certain kind over another.
Never owned a chatterbait/chatterstick so I'm can't speak about them either...........
Sorry couldn't be more help..........
PS: STILL have almost 8 inches of snow in the yard and the boat is still in a storage unit.................last year it was in the high 60s at this time...so it'll be a while before we can hit the freak again.......
Later......

With the exception of having NEVER fished with WALLEYE MIKE and the notorious ESOX....
WHAT is this "Near pr0" $#!Zn!T Wilburrrrr???

(Sorry Brent!!!)
;)
"F" those speed clipz , use oval split rings (on cranks) if you want something different!!
Where you get these "Rosco" snaps PAul??
I generally use Sampo or D.A.M. BB swivels - and the snaps I use are too big for most guys...LOL
I have found the Stren Super Braid to hold it's color better than Power Pro , and it holds up as good...
But , yeah... POWER PRO!
:evilsmile
THANKS for excluding me Bill , I took you out of my last will & testament.

Dont feel left out there Robert everything will be fine after a few nights of unrestful sleep:lol::lol:.. Some one told me once limits are not everything ring any bells Rob, "THERE EVERYTHING":lol: Just kidding Rob now back to the thread..
I use fireline Crystal for everything I just change the pound test to what fish I am going after but I really want to try Power pro one day but I got such a deal on the biggest roll Berkley carry's that I had to buy it and it works for my needs..
Jigging I will admit I should use a leader with a small barrel swivel just to avoid line twists, but as for using leaders because the fish may see it, who knows I havent had any problems.. Even tho my buddy Houghton laker pointed out that my line was pretty twisted on my jigging rod:rolleyes:the other day:help:so I pulled off 30 feet and retied:evil:..
As for snaps I like cross lock snaps or Sampo's just make sure there small enough so it does not change the running of what ever bait you are running but stronge enough to get the job done..
Hey Walleye Mike no drafting this year alright:lol::lol:this is fishing not nascar  you did have me a little freak at onr time last summer..I talked to Gary the other day and it dont sound like he is going to make it up here at all to charter he will be missed..Cya Slick

No I am useing flat head river jigs, or round ones.. The line twist are not that bad that I have to worry about it, for me it easier to cut and retie then use a leader..Cya Slick

Lakeside.
For snap SWIVELS I use nothing but Sampo Stay-loc
For plain snaps, nothing but Rosco.
The two companies must be sisters, look the the logos:

http://www.roscoinc.com/duo_lock_snaps.html
Actually the Roscos are for anything but muske, muskie get these:

So Lakeside must be a local shop your way , EH?
I prefer the DuoLock snaps myself.
I like this image....

USA is good.
:)
Good choice, duo-loks are made by Rosco, and are my choice too, look at the links I posted.:)
Every time I have had to get some other snaps because I was caught short handed in the sticks, it cost me a ton of money in baits, the imports just aren't what they claim to be, and straighten out when your bait looks at a stump.
From the what I can figure Rosco and Sampo are sister companies, Rosco makes excellent snaps, but all crane (non ball bearing) swivels.
Sampo makes the ball bearing products.

thanks C-man..with this bum hand..anything that optimizes time between lure changes is an important aid......too much tying or difficult snaps and I about lose the left hand completely............................geez SF..u know u b the electronic guru!:evilsmile....NEAR PRO? Thats Walleye MIKE...he cashed BIG CASH on The FLW tour...hey i save all his e-mails, pm/s and long hand notes..i figure his signature will be worth BIG BIG BUCKS in a few years!..he's practically a LEGEND already..hell when he goes north to leelanau they have a festval in his honor(cherry, I believe).:D thanks for the input guys...1 more, anybody using the 'no=snag' nets by frabill?
Ramlundman has a Frabill no snag in the big muskie size. Damn nice net, probably the one that would replace my big Beckman if it happens to die before I do. Unlikely, but anything is possible.

Man!!!
Bill ~ I can't believe you ain't got a tangle-free net.
I have one of the Tangle-Free PVC dipped Poly bags - I replaced it a few years ago , figuring that when the bite was ON - the time I spent dink'in with untangling hooks was COSTING me a limit on the frEEk.....
:evilsmile (instead of three or four fEEsH)
That must have been the kiss of death , 'cause there ain't NO MORE eyes in th' frEEK now!

Anyways , they are damn nice - and you'll only have trouble IF a treble pokes right into one the knots ; but then you get out the needle-nose pliers and y0!nk on it a good'n......
I DIDN't go with the rubber ones B/C it's too easy to 'bounce' a good eater out of the net on the lift....
Tangle-Free PVC dipped Poly bag =
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!
I forget you got a gimpy paw Bill , so I guess those speedclips would be great for you. :)
Mike (E.) is a pr0 , he just ain't gettin' all that pay0La YET!!
RAS
My Beckman is poly dipped, but the Frabills will deploy with one hand, a hack of an advantage with big nets, big fish and small boats. The beckmans have a strong yoke (lifetime guarante), but the Frabill PowR-Lok yoke rocks! The handle isn't round like the Beckmans, so the yoke is always aligned with the lock hole, just pull the handle without having to look.http://www.frabill.com/cgi-bin/frabill/8450?store=spring

I use to like the rubber nets from Cabelas, but my buddies always called it my trampoline :D untill one run down the river it fell out of the boat and sank to the bottom of the river:mad:..So I got a regular plan old net now and days and it works pretty good..Cya Slick

schWEEET!!!!
Will you buy me one Paul???
:)
Maybe after I buy myself one, win the lottery and get incinerated.
The really cool thing is you can fight the big lunge, put your foot on the hoop, extend the handle and be ready to net with one hand, without even looking at what you are doing.
