If you are refering to the slash-baits they came out with a coulpe of years ago they work great. Black/silver when it's sunny and black/gold when it's overcast. I've caught 'em in good numbers during the spring but I'll usually get my bigger fish on other baits. They did introduce an x-rap in a larger size last year but I haven't ever used one.
Not sure I understand what you are looking for in the second part?

They are decent baits. I prefer the Lucky Craft, but they cost big bucks.
I may be wrong (probably) but I don't use too many jerkbaits for Large Mouth in Michigan. They seem to be in the weeds more often or under some type of cover (docks, walls, logs). I would be inclined to use a shallow diving crankbait, spinnerbait, Jig n pig, or plastic lures (senkos) when pursuing Largemouth. As mentioned above, there is always an exception to what I just wrote. But I don't find myself pulling out Jerkbaits for Largies too often.
Now smallies...that is a different story!

I like to throw them in the spring for bass and usually catch a good number of them between all the pike that like to hit them. Once the weeds have taken hold I dont' throw them too often for bass.

I just bought an x rap in clown for casting for walleyes off the dock. I bit more dive than a bomber which is my regular dock lure.
we'll see what happens!

For me they've been great, along with rogues, in the early C&R season. Especially if the water temps are pretty low. Fish them a little less aggressively, with twitches and brutally long pauses. My best spots and times have been off points where a decent wind creates some cloudy water and a line of clear to cloudy. When fishing the long pause, clear water is important, but the cloudy seems to congregate fish. I use a 7' M spinning rod 8# fireline to make long casts. Take it easy on the hook set though or you'll pull through with the no stretch line.
For largemouth, the jerkbaits pretty much go away after the water warms. For smallmouth, I keep using them all year, experimenting with the jerk/twitch/pause pattern until I find what makes them dumbest.

#10 Gold X-Rap is my go to walleye bait. 90% of the time thats what I'm throwing for eyes that is unless I'm unhooking all the bass and pike that can't leave it alone.................

the x rap is an awesome bait one of my favorites. i have gotten some of my most aggressive strikes with it. also the larger size really makes a difference in what size fish you catch. i used a trout patteren one and caught my largest smallmouth in my life. i found it works really well fishing over submerged weeds all i can say is buy some

I've only fished X-Raps since the fall, but found it amazing how hard walleyes slam them (and the X-Rap Jointed Shads). I'm sure they'll do pretty well for bass & pike, too. :fish:
