First without getting involved in the "who, what and where"

Here is the situation, an associate at work was talking about how him and his buddy fish this lake that is private.

They access the lake by launching thier boat at a nieghboring lake, since there boat is small enough to navigate a "channel" between the two lakes they fish the lake that has the best fishing (private lake).

?? Is this considered tresspassing?? they do not leave the boat, however they end up on a private lake without access to the public.

Just curious on opinions and rules.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Private as in man made for the water front owners or Private as in no public access? No public access - I don't see a problem they found a proper way to access the lake. Man made - then the water front owners bought the rights to the lake and your co-workers should respect that and not tresspass.

It would seem to be legal because you are coming in from public water and if its connected it should be all good :evilsmile

Is the "private" lake wholly owed by one person (the land around the lake). If not sounds like he is legal. The state owns the water, the property owners own the bottom land.
